Lent Day 16

Peter gives agency to the desires of the flesh. They war against our souls. Temperance is an important tool in combatting the desires of the flesh. With temperance, we surround the city walls of the enemy, starving the desires of the sinful flesh so that they die. Without temperance, we feed the enemy, giving strength and energy to sinful desires.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, we recognize that our battle with the desires of the flesh is a spiritual battle for our souls and the Kingdom of God. Give us the weapon of temperance to surround the enemy's walls, starving the desires of the sinful flesh so we can live lives of righteousness, joy, peace, and holiness in the Holy Spirit. Amen.
