Lent Day 3
Daniel was troubled by events in Babylon while Israel and Judea were in exile. He longed to see his people return to the Promised Land and rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. He mourned for his people in sackcloth and ashes. For this reason, Daniel committed himself to prayer. As followers of Jesus, we have confidence that God hears our prayers even when we do not fast. But Daniel sought God with fasting and mourning to draw nearer in spirit by drawing himself away from the flesh. We may deny our flesh for a time to seek God in times of great need.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, we seek you in this time of great need. We ask that you draw us near as we turn our attention towards you by prayer and petition, with fasting. Like Daniel sought you, and he heard your voice, we pray that you would answer our prayers. <<PRAY FOR ANY GREAT NEEDS YOU HAVE>> Amen.
