Allegiance to the Risen Lord
The sermon, titled "Allegiance to the Risen Lord", is based on Romans 9:32b–10:13 and addresses the critical question: Who will be saved? It challenges the misunderstanding that Jews are saved by the law while Christians are saved by faith, emphasizing that Paul presents one Gospel for all—both Jews and Gentiles.
For the Apostle Paul, salvation is based on the heart’s conviction of Christ’s resurrection and the confession of his lordship.
Faith in Christ is not just intellectual assent but regeneration of the heart resulting in a reorientation of life under Christ’s rule—expressed through repentance, baptism, and worship as acts of allegiance to the risen Lord.
True faith in Christ is not just intellectual but results in a transformed life. Allegiance to Jesus is expressed through:
Baptism – A public pledge of submission to Christ.
Repentance – Ongoing realignment with God's will.
Corporate Worship – A practice of reinforcing devotion to Jesus.
